Z plus security to Ram Rahim, Haryana Police told danger from this organization

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim has been given Z plus security by the Haryana government. Police have increased their security citing threat to their lives from Khalistani terrorists. The Government of Haryana has made the report of the ADGP (CID) the basis of security. The government said that Khalistan supporters can harm the Dera chief, so they are being given tight security. It has also come to the fore from the records presented in the High Court that the Dera chief is under threat from pro-Khalistan elements. Due to this, the state government has given him Z plus category security after his release from jail on furlough. Scrutiny of records revealed that the process of releasing the Dera chief was initiated after taking legal opinion of the Advocate General (AG). Last year too, the Dera chief had to travel from morning till evening to visit his ailing mother. Emergency parole was granted till evening. He had also come out of jail on a few occasions citing health reasons. Ram Rahim was till now lodged in Sunaria Jail in Rohtak district of Haryana. The Haryana government has told the High Court that Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Singh is not directly involved in the murder cases. He was convicted only for criminal conspiracy with co-accused. He is not a hard core criminal and has to spend five years in jail.Because of this also he is entitled to furlough. 54-year-old Ram Rahim is serving a 20-year jail term for raping two female followers at his ashram in Sirsa. Ram Rahim was convicted in the case in August 2017 by a special CBI court in Panchkula.
