Three Arizona public universities ordered to withdraw Russian investments

Mar 8 (AP) The board that oversees three Arizona public universities on Monday ordered its presidents to pull out Russian investments as soon as possible because of the ongoing war against Ukraine."The board strongly condemns Russian President Vladimir Putin's illegal invasion of the sovereign nation of Ukraine and the targeting of people," Lindell Manson, head of the Arizona Board of Regents, said in a statement. "With today's action, the board rejects Putin's aggression and ensures that Arizona's public university enterprise ends ties with all Russian investments as quickly as possible," Manson said.According to the UN refugee agency, some 1.7 million people from Ukraine have left the country since the Russian invasion. Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February.
