      BJP sources claim that Swami Prasad Maurya did not want to contest from his traditional seat Padrauna this time. He had demanded to contest from the Fazilnagar assembly seat of Kushnagar. Apart from this, he wanted his son to contest from Unchahar seat.

      BJP FazilnagarIt has been winning the assembly seat since the year 2012. In such a situation, the party was in no mood to give that seat to Swami Prasa Maurya. At the same time, Dara Singh Chauhan had expressed his desire to contest from Ghoshi instead of Madhuban seat. From here in the year 2017, Fagu Chauhan had won, who is currently the Governor of Bihar. At present, Vijay Rajbhar is an MLA from here. The party was not inclined to change the candidate for this seat.
