The stock markets fell for the third consecutive day on Friday. The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 57,362.20, down 233.48 points, or 0.41 per cent. At one time during trading, it had closed at 57,100.24, down 495.44 points. Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 17,153 points, down 69.75 points, or 0.40 per cent.Titan, Tech Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki India, Wipro, Nestle India, TCAS, Larsen & Toubro, HCL Technologies, Tata Steel and HDFC declined in 30 Sensex stocks. On the other hand, gainers include Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Asian Paints, Reliance Industries Ltd., Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India and Kotak Mahindra Bank. Standard indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed with losses in domestic stock markets on Thursday in extremely volatile trade. Markets fell on losses in bank and financial stocks amid a weak trend in global markets. The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 57,595.68, down 89.14 points, or 0.15 per cent.During trading, it went up to 57,138.51 in the low and 57,827.99 in the high. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) remained net buyers and they bought shares worth Rs 481.33 crore on Wednesday. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also closed at 17,222.75 points, down 22.90 points, or 0.13 per cent.
