In Karnataka's schools and colleges, those demanding wearing of hijab have got a setback from the Supreme Court. The top court has refused to hear the matter urgently. Not only this, the court told the lawyer of the pro-hijab girl students to avoid creating sensation in this matter. In fact, Devdutt Kamat had said that the examinations are about to begin, in such a situation, there is a need for immediate hearing to avoid harm to one's studies. On this, the court said that you should avoid sensationalizing this matter. The court clearly said that the hijab controversy has nothing to do with examinations. On Devdutt Kamat's argument, Chief Justice NV Ramanna said, "Examinations have nothing to do with this issue. Don't create sensation by mentioning it. Earlier too, the court had refused urgent hearing on the hijab controversy, saying it would be considered after the Holi holidays. The matter was put up for urgent hearing before the Chief Justice on Thursday. During this, Advocate Kamat said that the examinations of the students are going to be held from March 28. In such a situation, if she is not given entry with hijab, then her one year will be wasted. The ban on hijab in schools and colleges has been upheld by the Karnataka High Court. The court had said in its decision that hijab is not an important part of Islam. Apart from this, the court had clearly said that the students cannot challenge the rules set by the institute regarding uniforms. It was only after this decision that the lawyer for the hijab supporters said that he would challenge it in the Supreme Court. It is worth noting that three judges, including Chief Justice of the High Court Ritu Raj Awasthi, who delivered the verdict on the Hijab controversy, have been provided Y category security.
