TikTok and other Chinese apps compile data
The 2017 Chinese intelligence law should allow any company in China to give the government any information it needs. This means that any data in any company will have to be given to the CCP if required. This means that any app you download to your phone/device and accept "I agree to allow location data" has a good chance of being stored in servers in China.
And not only that but even if you uninstall the app then there are chances that a digital ID may be created which remains on the device even after uninstalling. (I first ran into this after an interview on the China Unscripted podcast with Dr. Jaswinder Singh Sekhon). I haven't downloaded TikTok to know what it asks for, and at this point, I wouldn't want to install it until I reset the phone to factory specs.
As we know Tencent is the biggest games company in China and has their finger in many places as they have invested in some of the top western game apps: World of Warcraft's Activision, Fortnite, Roblox, and many other apps that gamers use. (such as discord). Lilith Games and Yota are smaller players in the game space, but their top games have had over 100 million downloads.
